Date: April 10th
Symphony nº2 was written by Beethoven during a particularly difficult period of his life. He was already struggling with deafness, but it did not stop his determination in composing energetic and surprisingly joyful music.
The program is centered on the 19th century German music and features an overture by Schumann based on poem by Goethe and Brahm’s First Piano Concerto. The guest soloist is the German pianist Joseph Moog. He was considered one of the best pianist of our time.

Hans Zimmer – Live the Next Level (Lisbon)
Date: April 1st (and March 31st)
On April 1st, Hans Zimmer takes it to the Next Level – and he’s bringing Europe along for the ride! The multiple Oscar and Grammy winner returns to Europe’s largest arenas in 2026. On the first day of April you’ll be able to enjoy a spectacular show with musics composed by Hans Zimmer, accompanied by innovative electronic soundscapes and lights.

Easter Concert with Sintra’s Orchestra (Sintra)
Date: April 2nd
On April 2nd, go on a musical journey through the spirituality of Easter with this concert in Sintra. The Municipal Orchestra of Sintra, D. Fernando II, invites you to hear the dramatic intensity of Antonio Vivaldi’s String Concerto in G minor, and enjoy the contemplative depth of the Stabat Mater and the Nisi Dominus.
They translate the pain, hope, and light of the Resurrection into sound, with the help of Cátia Moreno. Cátia Moreso is one of the finest Portuguese mezzo-sopranos of today that will be performing in this Sintra’s Concert.
Entrance is free (get the invite on location – Centro Cultural Olga Cadaval – at the Jorge Sampaio Auditorium). The concert starts at 9 PM, but you should get there half an hour in advance (entrance prohibited to children under 3 years old).
Requiem Fauré and Brahms (Coimbra)
Date: April 3rd
If you’re in Coimbra, there’s also a special easter concert. Under the theme “The Art of Living Serenely”, the city of Coimbra invites listeners to experience life through serenity. We are not talking about the absence of conflict, but the ability to inhabit time with mindfulness and balance.
Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem in D minor Op.48, with its consoling dimension, dialogues with Johannes Brahms’ Piano Concerto No.1 in D minor, where serenity emerges as an achievement through tension. This classical concert will happen in São Francisco Convent.
The first part will be performed by Italian pianist Antonio Di Cristofano and the Inês de Castro Orchestra. The second half features the Inês de Castro Symphonic Choir, Coimbra Cantat – Children’s and Youth Choir, soprano Leonor Barbosa de Melo, and bass Luís Rendas Pereira, under the baton of guest conductor José Arturo González from Mexico. Madeira’s Mandolin Orquestra (Funchal)

If you’re looking to hear a unique string instrument, consider one of these shows in Madeira. Madeira’s Mandolin Orchestra is giving 3 April concerts in the noble hall (ceremonial hall) of the archipelago’s legislative assembly in Portugal (Funchal, Madeira Island).
It is both the oldest and youngest mandolin orchestra in Europe—a distinction of particular significance in a region renowned for its excellence within the European community. This season, the orchestra composed by musicians from ages 10 to 46 is bringing a unique and diverse program, featuring arrangements of the great classics of world music.

Madeira Classical Orchestra (Funchal) 🎻
Date: April 19th
The Madeira Classical Orchestra presents a concert of great artistic intensity, featuring two leading international artists: violinist Leticia Moreno and conductor Sergey Smbaytan. In this program, the audience will have the opportunity to Leticia’s Moreno energetic and engaging performance of Symphonie Espagnole, Op.21.

Tom Smith (Lisbon)
