WRC Rally Portugal 2026: Important Info

WRC Rally Portugal 2026 is one of the most popular events in the World Rally Championship and attracts thousands of national and international fans. It takes place every year across multiple stages around Portugal, often on challenging gravel roads that test driver’s skill and endurance.

What is the WRC Rally Portugal?

Vodafone Rally de Portugal or WRC Rally Portugal is a one of the biggest motorsports events in Portugal. Since 1967, motorsport cars race each other of soft .

The 2026 Edition features a revamped format, with 23 special stages. All the trails combined result in a total length of 1862 km (1157 miles) and cover different regions of Portugal.

Where to watch the WRC Rally Portugal

There’s three options:

  • You can buy the tickets and watch the rally in the above locations. In terms of tickets there are individual tickets (for Baltar, Figueira da Foz and Lousada), 1-day passes, 2-day passes, and 3-day passes.
  • Watch in the Spectator Zones (Zonas Espetáculo)
  • Another option is to watch them online, on platforms like Rally Tv.

About Spectator Zones

The organization has set up several Spectator Zones, so you can experience the excitement of this rally in various areas (should be announced closer to the dates, we will update this article).

Access to this zones will only be permitted starting at a specific time determined for each location, usually about 5 hours before the first competitor passes through. This way the public travels to the venue without any rush.

Please cooperate with the organizers and follow the instructions of GNR (and other policeman), and marshals.

When is the WRC Rally Portugal 2026?

From May 6th (shakedown), although official start is on the 7th, to the 10th of May.

Tips before watching a rally

  • Keep a safe distance from the track/path (Rally cars can loose control in seconds).
  • Never jump a safety tape
  • Never stand at the outside of a corner, on the exit of a blind crest, below the road on a downhill section, or at the end of a long straight.
  • Watch only on official spectator zones

One bad decision can injure people and stop the event for thousands of fans. So, follow safety procedures and the advice from the organization.
