Due to the storms and episodes of heavy rain, several cities were forced to postpone or even cancel their carnival celebrations. Even though Sunday was a sunny day, expect rain at the start of the week, including carnival day (Tuesday). Some municipalities have also decided to move events to other locations, especially covered ones, to ensure the safety of everyone.

Carnival in Portugal Cancelled in the following cities and towns:
- Caldas da Rainha Carnival celebrations
- Proença-a-Nova (Tuesday) and Vila de Rei (Fat Sunday) – Carnival parades in this cities were cancelled
- Tomar Carnival celebrations
- Nazaré parade on Sunday
- Mealhada (town) sunday parade cancelled
- Torres Vedras parade (may be possible on another date, but not confirmed yet)
- Aveiro (The nautical parade and other events were canceled for safety reasons. A performance will be held later on the estuary channels.)
- Vila Real parades
Carnival in Portugal Postponed in the following cities and towns:
- Porto (Depending on weather conditions, the Carnaval / Carnival celebrations will take place on February 22 and 27, with events led by Batucada Radical)
- Figueira da Foz (The night and daytime parades, scheduled for Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday, February 14, 15, and 17, respectively, have been postponed to the first weekend after Holy Week.)
